Little things have great wisdom

It’s raining slowly. Fallen leaves and some still clinging to a vine have the same amount of blizzard drenching their exposed faces. Yes, a blessing for a new plant that quenches its thirst for a week of drought. It resembles a feeling of agony when you wanted to be relieved of pain and hurt and everything. As we can see how the world turns, people relate to each other, material things become the status symbol instead of the purest intention and innocent longing for a peaceful and fulfilling life.

Little things are great when given enough time to be recognized, valued, treasured, etc. Like the flowers by the side of the road, simple but magical because it evokes a good feeling to those who see and appreciate them.

With the coronavirus wreaking havoc in every nook and cranny of our fragile shared fear, some people are learning to look beyond their mundane existence. Some have been simplistic, without a glimpse of the material wealth to which they cling, because what matters most are the essential elements: oxygen to breathe, water to drink and food to fill the stomach… and of course, the love that unites people towards the desired goal: happiness, satisfaction.

If this pandemic has made us realize anything, it is the importance of the present moment. The now. not the past, not the future… this very moment while we are still breathing and moving and caring for our loved ones.

Yes, savor the moments when you can still feel the cold morning air and hear the birds chirping on a nearby branch; smell the flowers in your garden until the last leaf is about to fall; see the beauty of the faces and hearts of our loved ones; and many more little things that are all the essentials for living a happy and contented life.

No amount of material things could protect you from coronavirus, no one can save you once you have them in your system, but only your faith in the Almighty can make you endure all these things. Because our final journey is not this earth, but the only place where everything is good, nice and kind.

Inhabitants of the earth, let us all be joyful witnesses of His grace. Cherish the life you have cherished, use the time to love and learn and live to the fullest. Never underestimate the little things around you as they have their own purpose. Even a humble herb is a boon for a swollen foot after a hard day’s work. A little air is more of a stress-relieving caress from nature in the midst of the daily routine we had to face.

Yes, there is always a beauty in the sight of wildflowers blooming despite the barren land they grew on. A new shot of a plant from a crack that shows us the power of determination, perseverance, etc. If there is a will to survive, there is a way to flourish. Like a lotus flower in the midst of murky water, its beauty is amazing under the moonlight. Shining in the morning when the dew kisses them as a sign of hope, because another day has come… another opportunity to maintain life despite adversity.

When you feel like giving up, just look around you and see the magic. Little things have no one to trust; like Cogon grass, but they dance in the wind or in the rain. For those who have all the time wasting their opportunities to be happy without seeing the beauty of the simple life. Yes, living is enjoying the beauty of the simple things that surround us. Appreciate the transition from the humble caterpillar to a magnificent butterfly and see how it makes you smile. Recover the inner power after what life has given you. You need to survive now, thrive later. Because there is always time for everything. His plan is worth waiting for. Be patient.
