Why are Mystery Party games ideal for St. Patrick’s Day parties?

Why is it good to make a mystery kit at your St. Patrick’s Day party? Because it brings “a little fun” to the whole event. It gives people a reason to dress up and something to do while dressed. They get to solve a mystery instead of just talking about the color green, which gets boring pretty soon.

St. Patrick’s Day is a day that many people like to celebrate, not only in Ireland but also all over the world. It is interesting to note that the day we like to celebrate St. Paddy is not the day he was born, but the day he died.

Saint Patrick was born in England but was taken as a slave to Ireland when he was young. While in Ireland, he received his call from God. He later escaped from slavery and eventually became a priest. He returned to Ireland and spent more than thirty years there converting the people to Christianity. He explained the Holy Trinity (ie, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) using a three-leaved plant (possibly a cloverleaf).

Encourage everyone to wear green for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration. It can be anything from pointy felt hats and pointy shoes with curled toes, to evening gowns and green feather boas. Use face paint to paint a clover on everyone’s cheek. She wears bright green jewelry and a green wig.

There are some mystery party game kits available online. You can usually download them, so you can’t immediately start preparing for your party instead of waiting for shipping. Be sure to open the sample to verify that it meets your needs.

Serve green foods and drinks on St. Patrick’s Day. For example, green salads, cake with green icing, mint ice cream, cloverleaf sandwiches and cookies, and green candies. Decorate your food with little Irish flags. Let your imagination fly.

Outside, or just inside the door, place a large rock to act as the Blarney Stone. Everyone can kiss this upon entering. Tradition says that this makes them talkative (the gift of the “blarney”). Another nice thing to have is a large cardboard rainbow that ends in a pot of gold.

Have green light bulbs or hang green cellophane under lights and decorate tables with shamrocks or four-leaf clovers made from green cardboard. White tablecloths will make them stand out. Have green napkins or green napkin rings. Hang green balloons and streamers. Fill the room with green potted plants and throw a green bedspread over the sofa.

St. Patrick’s Day is a time to perk up with a little Irish jig and expect some wild “shenanigans.” And the best way to make that happen is to host a mystery party game.
