Retrograde planets and the 2010 cycles

The Universe moves in cycles and rhythm.

The planets of the solar system revolve around the Sun beginning and completing endless cycles with themselves and with other planets. There is daylight and darkness, wakefulness and sleep, and the cycle of the seasons. The tides come in and out. Your heartbeat and your breathing are rhythms and are the essence of life.

Seen from Earth, the planets appear to move forward and then recede in the sky. When we reverse direction or cease our forward motion in response to planetary motion, we are acting in accordance with the rhythms of the Universe.

Nature does not operate on a 24/7 always-on schedule.

Even when subjected to a challenging and long-lasting outer planetary transit, there are periods of higher and lower intensity. An outer planet will move forward, then backward, forward, then retrograde. Pluto, for example, can go back and forth over a single point up to five times.

It is important to keep this in mind when there are periods of intense changes like the Cardinal Climate that we are experiencing from 2008 to 2015.

Between the peaks there are intervals of calm.

Just like a long-distance runner, it’s important to keep up the pace.

During this time of rapid change, every one of the outer planets, with the exception of Neptune, is involved. The very core of our society is transforming.

The Earth and the way we live on it have become seriously out of balance. American society, politics, business, and finance have also become severely unbalanced with the vast majority of resources flowing upward to a small number, while even once-comfortable middle-class people struggle to survive.

We’ll get a taste of retrogression this summer when all the planets from Jupiter outward, with the exception of Neptune, move into the first few degrees of cardinal signs. And then, mercifully, Saturn, Uranus, and Jupiter go backwards and forwards to previous signs.

But between now and spring, at least one personal planet will be retrograde. Many people get impatient at the idea. They think it means putting their lives on hold. Their impatience is compounded by the fact that some planets like Mars increase the likelihood of ill-considered and premature action.

Be thankful for this retrograde time and use it wisely. It is time to strengthen your center and your foundations. Reconsider your actions/direction (Mars retrograde), reevaluate your values and relationships (Venus), and reevaluate your thinking and communication (Mercury).
