Are you throwing a beach theme party and want to set a fabulous table that reflects the beach? No problem – there are so many ways to incorporate the theme into your table settings!
crockery: Plastic or acrylic plates and utensils (or paper) are usually used on the beach. These come in a variety of bright colors and are not that expensive (and they go on sale in late summer). Buy color coordinated napkins too. You can also put a colored plastic or linen tablecloth on the tables.
Beach-themed candles or tea lights at each location: Not only does this help set a beautiful table, but some candles and tealights come in beach-themed candle holders and double as party favors to take home.
Beach-themed photo frames or place cards at each location.: There is a wide variety of photo frames and card holders that come in the form of Adirondack chairs, flip flops, shells, pineapples, and sailboats. These double as party favors to take home.
Beach-themed coasters at each place setting: Again, these can not only serve as party favors, but also help set a fun and beautiful table. Many of these coasters also allow you to be a photo on them.
centerpieces:
- A plastic bucket filled with a shovel, suntan lotion, small beach toys, flip-flops, etc. Send the centerpieces home with lucky guests.
- A beach hat with a pair of fun, inexpensive sunglasses next to it.
- A whole pineapple actually makes a very pretty centerpiece and screams “tropics.”
- Various candles grouped together. Candles that have a beach theme.
You can also sprinkle a variety of seashells on the outside of the centerpiece to add to the décor.
By the way, don’t forget the music to help set the scene.. Of course, the music of ‘The Beach Boys’ is perfect for any beach party. Or do some research online to find songs that have the word ‘beach’ or a beach theme and make your own tape or CD (“Cruel Summer”, “Heat Wave”, “Island Girl”, “Margaritaville”, “All Summer Long”, “Soak Up The Some” just to name a few”)).
