What is recycled plastic? This is usually used to make shampoo bottles, master bottles, water bottles, and juice bottles. It can also be used to make milk containers. It doesn’t have wood putty and that’s because wood putty is usually just letters, blisters, peeling or rotting. It is made up of about 90 percent used plastic material. It can be created from high-density polyethylene plastic. It is usually in the form of a solid foam product that has been recycled. The dyes used in this wood have been stabilized by ultraviolet rays. This will not fade therefore it will last for a long time. There will be no need to paint, seal or stain it. Of course, if you want special colors, this is an option though; it usually comes in the standard colors. Standard colors consist of redwood, green, black, dove gray, white, ivory and dark gray.

The textures of this plastic wood have been created to look like it has wood grain, which is nice because it is easy to care for and clean. When wet, it’s as slippery as a painted deck.

There will be an invisible film that will remain on the surface after you buy it. However, it will burn when direct sunlight hits it for a couple of weeks. If you want it to be non-slip, you will have to request the knurled finish.

Recycled plastic lumber has been tested and been through harsh weather conditions. As of now, the full lifespan of this wood is yet to be seen. This product has been put on boats and lasted up to 35 years and still works with no signs of damage.

Many like this product, because you don’t have to put a lot of work into it. As we mentioned earlier, there is no need to paint, seal or stain it. Generally, all you’ll need to do to care for it is mop it up and wash it down with a garden hose.

If you come across a stain that is difficult to remove, simply make a 1:10 ratio of bleach and water and work it into the surface. By doing this, you will not harm the reclaimed wood at all. Remember, bleach comes in plastic bottles. If it was harmful, then it wouldn’t come in plastic bottles.
