How to stay in style with a cast

When you have a broken leg or foot, it can definitely be difficult to get dressed, let alone trying to put on clothes that look good. But just because you have to wear a cast for the next several weeks doesn’t mean your personal style has to go out the window. Looking good in a cast doesn’t have to be difficult, it just takes a little planning and preparation. Here are some ideas that can help you stay stylish and fabulous during your recovery.

  • Wear dresses: Women are often tempted to use six weeks or so so their leg is in a cast to walk in sweatpants all the time. But just because you have a broken leg doesn’t mean you have to walk like a homeless person. In fact, wearing a dress can be much more comfortable for you. Wear dresses that are easy to put on and take off, like a cute button-down shirt dress or a flowy sundress. Since you probably can’t walk too far, order some wholesale dresses online and have them delivered right to your doorstep.
  • Complement: Accessories are a fun and easy way to add a little flair to your outfit without having to do a lot more. Put a stylish belt around your shirt dress, wear a lovely ankle bracelet (on the other foot), layered beaded necklaces, put your hair in a braid and tie it with a bow, stock up on hair accessories like headbands, assorted pens and clips. These are just a few examples of how you can customize, but feel free to get creative. Even if you’re just sitting at home, putting on just one or two colorful accessories can make you feel better if you’re feeling down or feeling like you’re starting to get a fever in the cabin. Ask a friend to pick up some fun accessories for you if you don’t feel like shopping, or buy them online.
  • Get a pedicure: With your foot in a cast, you will definitely draw attention to your feet and toes, so make sure they look good! A woman should never wear open-toed shoes without having her toes polished, and this includes those in casts. Even if you can’t get a full pedicure on your foot with the cast, you can still paint it well. If you normally have simple toe colors, have fun during this time where your toes are always visible. Get original colors, designs and rhinestones, or paint each toe a different color. You can be spoiled a bit during this time, so have your mother or a friend paint your toes.
