How to save and rekindle your relationship (you can fix it again)

Giving up on your relationship can be a very difficult decision to make, especially if you have invested heavily in it. However, saving the relationship becomes your only option.

You can rekindle and create a better relationship with your partner only if you both accept that there is still hope for regeneration. They both need to accept the fact that their relationship needs a second chance. If one of the partners has given up completely, the journey to save your relationship will be difficult and could be unattainable.

In most cases, one partner always feels remorseful while the other feels victimized. A very difficult situation is when both parties have accumulated conflicts with their exaggerated emotions (in which case, both feel like victims). Some can actually bottle theirs up quietly and when released they can be more poisonous than a snake’s venom. This is what we find as relationship counselors.

This is why I am giving you four hopeful tips on how you can save your relationship:

Activate your listening and communication skills

The first thing you would do is approach your partner and talk about how your relationship looks right now. When this discussion takes place, she must pay active attention to what he/she has to say because it is important to him/her. She must try as much as she can to redirect all her attention to what her partner is complaining about without interruption. She tries to communicate and understand the movement of her body during this session and see the pain in her eyes. Consider your partner’s areas of fear without sounding too self-centered. Every time he/she is done talking, he/she can quietly start his/her own complaints. Once you can control your emotions and listen to your partner, he/she will listen to you as well and make the journey to save your relationship an easy one.

Try to forgive and forget.

I want you to keep in mind that we are all human and as such, no one is perfect. Everyone deserves a second chance at life. This is the reason why you must forgive it in others to save your relationship and return it to its normal state. Forgiving your partner does not send a message of weakness or cowardice on your part, but rather shows that you are wise and strong enough to do what is right for your relationship.

leave your ego behind

This is a serious killer for many relationships. Keep his ego aside; don’t let your ego play fast with you by preventing you from breaking the ice towards your unconditional love. The truth is that if you value and love your relationship, you will not allow ego and pride to deny you those sweet and beautiful moments in life. Please don’t let your ego keep you from doing what’s necessary like “saving your relationship.” Stand up for what you love and fix your relationship now.

Give your partner some space and time to regroup

When mending your relationship, it is recommended that both of you give each other some space so that you can step back and imagine your differences and how to mend the wounds already created. I know that you may want to be together during this process, but spending so much time together could lead to fights and misunderstandings, further aggravating your problems. Give him some space so both of you can see the importance of saving your relationship before one of you starts to feel trapped.

If both of you can begin this beneficial journey to save your relationship, trust me when I tell you that your relationship will be much happier and healthier than it used to be.

Good luck!
