Honeymoon Safari Spots in Kenya

Honeymoon safari in Kenya? You don’t need to care. This country has many places that would fit perfectly for a honeymoon. Although the coastal region of Mombasa and other neighboring cities is an option for many, there are other unique places scattered throughout the country.

Starting with this popular spot, the Kenyan coast, honeymooners have some of the best hotels and lodges to choose from, not to forget to mention hundreds of activities to make their honeymoon safari memorable. In Mombasa, for example, one has the option of visiting the historical sites, Fort Jesus and the Gedi ruins, visiting the Mijikenda villages for a cultural experience, Halle Park or the marine parks. All this in addition to the best hotels, especially on the south coast with the panoramic views of the Indian Ocean is splendid.

In the evening, dinner on a boat are some of the getaways that are waiting for your judgement. All these more aquatic places like snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing and deep sea fishing are some of the classic experiences.

Facing the coastal city of Mombasa towards Nairobi, Tsavo National Park (the largest in Kenya) is another unique place. A camping safari combined with animal tracking and game drives are exceptional. Here, the Mzima spring is an oasis in the desert with water so clear that you can clearly see the bottom of the pool and a bath in its medicinal waters is relaxing. You also have the option to visit the caves where man-eating lions once hid their victims during the construction of the Kenya Uganda railways.

In the Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha is another honeymoon spot. Although not many discover it, this lake has several hotels that surround it and are perfect for couples. Among them is the Elsamere Lodge, home to world-renowned conservationists Joy and George Adamson. At the hostel, you can visit their private museum to see a collection of art books and other personal items from the couple. At the lodge, the main activity is a boat safari to the privately owned Crescent Island. Hundreds of breeds of birds and hippos are found on the lake and its shores.

In Naivasha, you can visit the famous Hells Gate National Park. This park is popular and is best suited for rock climbing, hiking safari, bird watching, horseback safaris and camping safari.

My last pick is Lake Nakuru National Park. This is a world-renowned bird watchers paradise that is home to thousands of flamingos and wildlife. Camping in this park is not only unforgettable, but also provides an opportune moment to spend the night with wild animals in their natural habitat.

A Kenya honeymoon safari is worth a try.
