It is quite true that today’s lifestyle and stress affect people’s health and emotional balance. To face the competition and the daily work, he often tends to neglect vital issues related to his health. This often leads to complex problems, one of which is irritable bowel syndrome. Millions of people around the world are prone to this gastrointestinal disease that causes distressing conditions such as bloating, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. The western medical process tries to treat the disease through tests, medicines and elimination of some foods. This can be a partial cure for the disease, but definitely not for life. This gap is filled by the Ayurvedic approach which has quite a scientific view and perspective of this common syndrome.

Ayurveda and IBS:

Ayurvedic treatment for IBS is infinitely hopeful compared to any other approach. Ayurveda says that all diseases arise due to imbalances caused in the doshas. Most of these diseases can be cured with proper balance therapies. IBS mainly occurs due to Vata imbalance. It is a dosha that is related to air. Vata is present within the colon and when it becomes imbalanced it creates symptoms like constipation and gas. People whose Vata dosha is predominant are often prone to imbalances that result in irregular digestion patterns. Vatican types of people are quite intuitive and creative, emotionally and mentally. However, they are quite sensitive to ugliness like strong odors, bright lights, etc. They can learn quite quickly, but even forget quite easily. So their nature puts them in a roller coaster situation that makes them feel exhausted and anxious. Ayurvedic therapy aims to rebalance Vata so that coldness and irregularity are minimized. This can be done by changing the drink, food, through massage, herbs and exercise.

routine is important:

The wind, as you know, is chaotic and changeable. Therefore, when balancing the Vata dosha, consistency and routine are of the utmost importance. You must have a strict schedule for waking and sleeping, rest and exercise, snacks, meals, and relaxation sessions. This systematic approach not only heals your body, but leaves you feeling refreshed and uplifted from within.

Take time to reduce stress:

Vatican people get confused, scattered, disorganized and anxious quite easily. This, in turn, creates stress. They can benefit from picking up and slowing down. The rejuvenation program according to Ayurveda says that diaphragmatic breathing is the basis of stress reduction, which calms the nervous system and the body. The whirlwind you carry inside is transformed into a calm breeze through this relaxation exercise. Oil massages are also extremely beneficial for balancing Vata.

follow the ayurvedic clock:

Organize your entire day according to the Ayurvedic clock, which is also a vital part of natural remedies for IBS. Every day, the human body goes through three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. One dosha is dominant at a particular time. Therefore, tuning the body according to the qualities and timings of the doshas can ensure harmony in life.

  • Kapha dosha is dominant between 6 am and 10 am in the morning. During this time, you should wake up and move your body instead of sleeping. Rigorous exercise is very beneficial at this part of the day. You can eat some light food this time.

  • 10 am to 2 pm is lunch time when Pitta is dominant. You can have the largest meal during this time as the transformative or Pitta fire is quite strong at this time. The food that goes in is easily converted into energy and fuel.

  • After this is Vata time from 2 pm to 6 pm. You can take a sip of hot tea, slow down, get comfortable, and practice some deep breathing exercises to pacify the vata.

  • 6 pm to 10 pm is the return time of the cycle to Kapha. You should prepare yourself to have a restful sleep at night. Eat a very light and early dinner and avoid spicy or greasy foods.
