Curly hair: tips and tricks

Curly hair is found in almost a large number of the population today. It is really difficult to care for curly hair compared to normal hair. The basic thing we can do is take care of the scalp as nutrition comes from the scalp and dry scalp leads to dull and damaged hair.

Here are some tips and tricks for you to have flawless, tangle-free curls.

Know your curls

Different patterns and different types of curls require different nutrition and maintenance routines. Curl type helps you decide which shampoo, conditioner, and serum you need to use for shiny, frizz-free hair.

Less is more

It is important for curly hair which product we use and in what quantity. The correct amount of product is less than you think. Always look before applying shampoo and conditioner to hair, as quantity matters.

Have a hair care routine

Having a routine, that is, setting the days when you wash your hair and the time intervals between greasing them, helps to have nourished and healthy hair, as it ensures that the scalp is clean between short intervals of time.

To sleep

We should have a proper 8 hours. From sleeping, at night it helps our body to repair itself and to treat the damage that occurs on a day-to-day basis. Also, if we have healthy hair, we should sleep on silk pillows as they are gentler on the hair compared to normal pillowcases when we toss and turn during sleep and we should also braid our hair while we sleep as it helps to prevent tangling.

Hair masks

In addition to shampoos, conditioners, and oils, many other products can help and nourish hair, one of which is hair masks. Once or twice a week we should use a hair mask according to the type of hair and the consistency. Thick and curly hair needs a little extra care, all we have to do is whip a conditioning mask with egg yolk, 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and a tablespoon of olive oil and a tablespoon of honey. The combination of apple cider vinegar, Greek yogurt, and honey helps reduce hair breakage. The hair mask with lemon juice and olive oil helps to heal the itchy scalp. For dry hair, we can combine avocado and coconut oil. Baking soda and coconut oil help reduce dandruff.

Say no to heat

Using hair dryers and straighteners can damage the hair structure and lead to hair loss.

Other precautions

We must say no to brushes as they can damage the delicate curls and cause hair loss. We can opt for the hairstyle with the fingers or a wide tooth comb. For fine curls, showering with a hairnet will allow you to clean the hair and maintain the structure of the curl.

Thus, by using homemade shampoos and masks, we can take care of fragile curly hair.
