BlackBerry Z10 review: Is it good enough?

Finally, BlackBerry has revealed a device with a new operating system and new hardware. However, impressing everyone with it will not be easy for the manufacturer. Still, BlackBerry Z10 has the potential to impress everyone with its great looks and features.

In terms of design, Z10 has all the right lines that are similar to the iPhone 5. You will see a change in texture from the comfortable back plate to the plastic sides. BB Z10 looks quite modern in its fluidity and animations and the icons, fonts and text on the phone are quite legible. The device is light, thin, and the screen looks quite sharp. However, don’t expect the screen to be as bright as the iPhone or HTC 8X. The performance of the device is pretty decent and apps including Twitter and Facebook apps load fast enough. It will hardly face a slowdown. The software keyboard of this phone is just fantastic. It is too comfortable to write. The auto correct option is much better than the other BB devices.

The software update on Z10 is perhaps its most notable feature of the device. You won’t find any navigation or home buttons on this phone. To go home, you need to swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Additionally, to centralize the experience and as a replacement for the traditional home screen, BlackBerry 10 has been equipped with the BlackBerry Hub, which contains all your notifications, messages, calendar events and contacts. All of these things are beautifully integrated into hub. Using the hub, you can get to everything very quickly.

The best part of the device is its high speed. If you’re already a BlackBerry user, you won’t have much of a problem switching to BB 10. However, if this is your first time using it, it may take some time for you to adjust to the settings. The call quality of the device is decent and the speakerphone is loud and clear. The microphone also seems to be quite sensitive. However, there are some complaints about the phone’s battery life.

For internet users, this is an easy device to use as web pages load quickly even when working on 2G or low speed connections. Also, the basic features like copy and paste, bookmarks, and tabs are pretty good on the device. The phone’s 1.5GHz dual-core processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage for storing music, apps, videos, and other files.
