Let’s start with the basics: what is social media?
Well, it is the collective name for every website and platform that has the ability to connect you with other people. It is with websites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and LinkedIn, for example, that you get in touch with other people. Sorry if I forgot some important social media website.
Let’s think for a moment. Social networking websites are usually populated by my people, which in our language are also known as “leads” or sometimes even customers. Getting noticed on any of those websites is vital to your success. It has become a common idea that a well-established fan page on Facebook gives you a lot of credibility because you have a large following. And this is just Facebook. What about Twitter, for example? It’s very easy to tweet and follow/unfollow people. Once you have a well-established account with a large following, that also shows credibility. Do you see the point?
There is one thing we still have to talk about. Having so many Twitter followers and Facebook fans means more than just credibility, it also means traffic, which is the most important aspect of internet based business. Without people looking at your offers, you are invisible and therefore do not make any money.
So how do you get a lot of Twitter followers and Facebook fans?
Well, there are dozens, if not hundreds, of strategies for doing this that I’ve learned, but most of the books I read were copyrighted, so I’m just going to offer you what I can offer anyone: take your links everywhere! ! Are you posting in a forum? Make your signature contain your links to your pages. Get your friends to share your page with their friends: Facebook can be like wildfire. Follow other people in your niche, it won’t be long until you have a lot of followers, aim to reach 1000 followers by the end of this month, tweet your facebook link to your followers. And most important of all, don’t give up! Not everyone will follow you and not everyone you suggest will like your Page. But you should continue! It will happen in the end.
