Much of psychological insight is attributed to how a tree is drawn. Various analysts have put together the following results. The tree is divided into two parts, the trunk and the crown:
Trunk
-A- Broad- Exaggerated self-confidence.
-B – Long and lean – Self-confidence, enthusiasm and pride. Probable need for inner realization.
-C – Scars on the trunk – Still consciously or unconsciously plagued by an unfortunate experience.
-D – Leans to the right – positive attitude towards life, feels the need for activity, enterprising, always ready to help.
-E- Bends to the left- Withdrawn, can be dreamy, self-absorbed.
-F – Located on an island or mountainous line – Sensation of isolation or loneliness, independent, reserved.
-G – Located on a sloping land line – Anxious, has some difficulty adjusting, distrustful.
-H – Realistic and widened trunk – Active, social, good sense of humor.
-I – Land line above the bottom of the trunk – longs for the unattainable, shrinks from reality, passive.
-J – Trunk drawn with separate short lines – Impatient, emotional, excitable, impulsive.
-K – The trunk widens at the roots – Confident, observant, realistic and not easily upset by events.
-L – The trunk makes several moderate ‘S’-like curves. -Artistic can be easily hurt, sensitive.
Crown
-M – Falls around the trunk like a sack – Non-aggressive, subject to mood swings, indecisive, easy to drive.
-N – Fluffy Cloud Style – Imaginative, sociable, adjustable, sometimes conceited.
-O Circles within circles: inflexible, strong-willed, sometimes indifferent, self-centered.
-P – Redondo – Mature, calm, well-balanced, honest, trustworthy.
-Q – Several cloud-shaped balls in several clusters – Diplomatic, pleasant, conceals real reasons and motives, accommodating.
-R – Few leaves, barren as winter tree – Impatient, defensive.
-S – Left side of crown larger or – heavier Thoughtful, prone to worrying about small things, cautious.
-T – Right side of the crown larger o – heavier Adventurer; may lack the ability to concentrate, self-assured, restless.
-U – Flat crown, box-shaped – Feel pressure, submissive, dependent.
-V – Composed of confused lines – Not methodical, acts suddenly, changeable, unconventional.
-W – Composed of uncoordinated lines – Sometimes thoughtless, playful, compulsive, easily distracted, may lack self-control.
-X – Has fruit – gift of self-dramatization, maturity. Fruit drop can indicate a feeling of loss or self-sacrifice.
-Z – Long drooping branches and crown like willow – Feeling of defeat, withdrawal from the world.
