Go Diego Go – Games and Toys for Christmas

If you’re wondering what to get your preschooler for Christmas, you can take a look at some of the great “Dora the Explorer” and “Go, Diego, Go” toys and games on sale. Chances are, if you’re shopping for a preschooler this Christmas, they’re excited about Diego or Dora and would love to play with something that revolves around these themes.

Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the wide variety of “Dora the Explorer” and “Come on, Diego, let’s go!” DVDs that are for sale. New, most of these retail for less than $20 and typically include four episodes or a double feature plus two other episodes of the Diego or Dora TV shows. They really are a hit, and knowing how much preschoolers love repetition, they really can’t get enough of watching these shows over and over again.

Or, if you’re looking for something different, you can check out Fisher Price themed toys like the “Go Diego Go Dinosaur Rescue Mountain” or the “Talking Rescue Center.” There are many really great Fisher Price themed toys to choose from and in my experience children, even as young as four or five, will play with them for hours, especially if they are playing with someone else. While they are a bit more expensive than other toys, they really do give you value for money and the fact that they are well made and therefore durable means they can be saved and even passed on to other children.

A cheaper game that some children enjoy, which could also be considered somewhat educational, is the Go game, Diego Go 123. This particular board game can be played by up to four players at a time, adding to the enjoyment. You receive ten different boards where the animals are represented according to their particular characteristics. The children then draw an animal from a bag and match it to one of the animals on their card or one of the other cards. The winner is the child whose card is filled out first. Most three and four year olds are happy to play but for older children it tends to be a bit boring for them. Good for teaching animal basics and counting numbers.

More Diego related things you may be interested in especially now that Christmas is coming are Go Diego Go costumes and other related items like backpacks etc. However, if your child is just beginning to learn to read on their own, they might like reading Leapfrog Tag Readers! There is also a very cool Play-Doh Diego game that kids will spend hours playing with, from experience. For very young children who love Diego, there are also cute Diego bath toys.
