Find your best personal business

Sell-yourself-and-reach-your-financial-goals

We have a problem! Most of us don’t make enough money to pay our bills. Mortgages, rents, food, gas prices, everything we need to live is getting more expensive every day. There are staff cuts, relocation and bankruptcies that put many of us out of work. What can we do to survive?

Is today the best day of our life to start a business? The answer is absolutely yes! Full-time, part-time, or moonlighting, it doesn’t matter as long as you take the necessary steps to become a business warrior and achieve the financial stability you need in your life.

I’ve been helping new entrepreneurs launch their businesses for over 40 years, and the only question that seems to come up frequently is: I have nothing to sell! – My answer has always been the same, Sell yourself. Everyone has a business niche that they can be proud of. You just have to sit back and think about what you know, what your hobbies are, how your personality can work for you to help others. Ask yourself: What can I do to benefit others?

Are you a hard worker? Can you fix things? Are you good with children? Are you good with the elderly? Are you a good driver and do you have a car?

Job # 1: Handyman or woman

It is extremely rare in our current environment to find a family where someone is at home every day to do the housework, fix the little things that go wrong, organize the closets or the garage. Would it be great to find someone who at a reasonable cost can help you do all those little things around the house that you just don’t have time for? Can you remove some weeds, clean and rearrange the backyard and patio, clean and rearrange the garage so the second car can finally get in, put new screws in the kitchen and bathroom cabinets to finally close properly? Can this be a business? The answer is yes. You’ve run into a great business, and based on the sample of people I spoke to in my neighborhood, you’ll be as busy as you want.

Job # 2: Temporary Service Provider

Things happen every day where working family members get caught up on a project, get stuck in traffic, have to attend an unexpected meeting, and have to call a friend or neighbor to pick up the child, take a grandma to the doctor for a check-up or to go to the market to buy something she needs, have dinner at the Chinese restaurant down the street before the family gets home, take the child to baseball practice or school of dance. How many times can someone ask a family member, friend, or neighbor for help? It would be great if you could call someone you trust, who lives in the area, to take care of these temporary tasks for a reasonable price so that I don’t have to bother my family or friends all the time. Can this be a business? The answer is yes. I know someone who washes cars at night and early in the morning for people who are too busy to go to a car wash and need to clean the car when they finally get home or before they leave in the morning. He makes a good living and all his inventory is a battery-operated handheld vacuum, a bucket, a couple of soft sponges, several soft cloths for drying, and some cleaning agents.

Job n. 3: house keeper

This is a great part-time job for a single person, someone who lives with a relative or rents a room or small apartment and who can go away for several days and not have to worry about maintaining their own living room.

People need to take business trips, trade shows or events, or take vacations. Some people own weekend houses. In almost all cases, they do not want to leave their houses empty for several days, even if they have security. Who will water the plants? Who will be there when a major delivery is made? Who will feed the fish or other household pets? The answer is you!

They pay you and you can live in a variety of nice houses and they pay you to do so. This is a job, so don’t invite your friends or throw a party. You won’t last long as a homemaker if you don’t follow the rules.

Job # 4: Tutor

Many students, from first grade through college, encounter difficulties with one or more subjects and, for one reason or another, the teacher is simply not finishing or the student is simply not getting it. Are you really good at math, history, English, Spanish, or any other subject or subjects a student needs help with? Do you work well with children? You are patient? If the answer is yes, parents will knock on your door to help children of all ages learn what you know.

This is just a sample of businesses that can be started with very little money and will still allow you a good life. If you take the time to think about it, you will come up with many more, and one of them will be the one for you. Many positive articles and books have been written on how to start an online business. Believe me, there are thousands of success stories, but there are also many more failures. The opportunities are incredible, but there are many earthly minds that travel that path. How to create and build a successful Internet business will be the subject of several articles that I will write in the future. This article is intended for people where hands-on business may be the best way to go. Families need help in their daily lives, and opportunities to start and succeed in a business that offers them benefits that will make their lives better and easier are available to them.

In any business where trust is an issue, put together an informational folder that includes your DMV record, letters of recommendation from your priest or minister, any documentation you have from attending CPR or Heimlich classes, and testimonials from happy clients. The more documentation you can provide to potential clients, the better your chances of building a good business.
