The breakup between Billie Eilish and Billy Lee Riley was announced on September 2nd, 2010. It was announced through a press release that Billy Lee Riley, the singer had called his former band mate Billie Eilish and the two had “amicably” decided to parted ways. On that same date, it was also announced that they had agreed to reunite their band sometime in the future. The press release included a photo of the happy couple:

Although the breakup seemed like it was inevitable, Eilish seemed rather eager to rekindle the relationship. On the day of the breakup, she posted on her MySpace page, “We are so excited to have been apart. We feel better now than ever. We want to make our old fans proud of ourselves and show them we are still beautiful and we are HAPOK.”

The press release stated that Billy and Billie “are very excited” and that they “are looking forward to getting back together as friends.” On September 5th, they confirmed their reconciliation by performing “Happier Than Ever” live on stage. Following the performance, it was revealed that the song was written especially for them. The song is played at their concerts, as well as on several other occasions.

According to the band’s official website, the song was written by Amy Grant and was recorded by singer-songwriter Michael Rose. The song’s lyrics are about the band’s journey through ups and downs, which the singer claims have made them a stronger team. It is a ballad about overcoming past relationships and becoming strong individually. In the first verse, it states, “All I want out of life is a song to tell my love. If you understand, you can be one of those who understand me.”

Billie Eilish was last seen on stage in November of 2003. Since then, she has focused on her personal life. However, she has also dedicated her efforts to reuniting with her former band, The Black Eyed Peas. She released a single titled “Happier Than Ever Since We Were Friends” in late 2007. The single has charted in the UK for weeks.

Hopefully, we’ll see a glimpse of Biffle Eilish one more time. If not, at least we can hope that Biffle is finally settling down and moving on from the bad old days of her solo career. As long as there are people out there who enjoy her music, we can at least look forward to seeing Biffle in concert again. Her fan base continues to grow as she’s successfully brought back her “Happier Than Ever” song from the “Reunion” CD.
