I’ve been using Gmail since it became publicly available and haven’t used another email solution since. For free solution that offers many options and a very easy to use interface.
I’ve recommended it to non-computer-savvy friends and they now share my enthusiasm for Gmail.
Let me give you seven reasons why you could also benefit from using Gmail:
Reason #1: Storage. You get plenty of storage space, around 7 GigaBytes, so you don’t have to delete your emails. It’s easy to sort them using labels or just forget about them until you need them in the future. No more undeliverable mail because your mailbox is full.
Reason #2: Mobile Access. You can access your email and calendar from your mobile device, such as your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone. Even when you’re on vacation, you can check your mail at an Internet cafe or hotel. There’s no mail stored locally on your computer, so it sort of travels with you wherever you go.
Reason #3: Search: Do you remember reason 1? Well, since you stopped deleting old emails, it can become quite a pile. If you wanted to find one manually, it could take you a long time. With the built-in search feature, you can find emails in an instant, even if you can’t remember the title, just enter a keyword and Google will find it.
Reason #4: Spam filter. One of the most annoying things about email is spam. If you don’t use a spam filter, you’re lost. Gmail has a built-in spam filter that is one of the best in the world. Your spam will almost be reduced to zero, this is a unique reason to use Gmail. If a spam email sneaks into your inbox, it can ‘teach’ Gmail that this email is spam, and as a result, the next time it won’t happen again. Another bonus is that this “learning” potentially affects all Gmail users, so it made the world a little better.
Reason #5: It’s free! Yes, you read that right, Gmail is free to use. Well, there’s no such thing as ‘free’ in this world, that’s why Gmail shows you little ads in the sidebar. No annoying banners, just text ads that don’t distract from what’s important: your email.
Reason #6: Easy to use. Even people without computer knowledge can use Gmail. I have tested this on many clients and friends, even people who were reluctant to use it at first will pick up on it and admit that it works perfectly. You don’t need to install software on your computer, all you have to do is visit the Gmail site on your computer and enter your username and password to access your email.
Reason #7:Security. Gmail uses the latest security techniques to protect your emails. Thus, you can be sure that no hacker will read your emails. If you’re paranoid about security, you can even enable a double authentication feature. This means that you will need to enter your password and a verification code sent to your mobile phone before you can access your email.
