The Anderson County Jail is an interesting historical landmark. The imposing building dates from 1914 and is built in the Renaissance Revival style. The courthouse features an impressive spiral staircase in the center of the building with a beautiful stained glass skylight at the bottom of the dome. The outer lounge is covered in memorabilia including historic photos, celebrity and political autographs, and newspaper clippings.

The Ivanhoe Building was built in 1913 as the organizational meeting for the Knights of Pythias. The Order of the Knights of Pythias is an international nonsectarian fraternal order, established in 1864 in Washington, DC, by Justus H.
